The season is upon us LFG!!!!!!! With the first week here we have some picks that could potentially win you some cash. This will be a weekly post that will continue throughout the season up to the big game. Now these are some suggestions so let's get that straight, Very profitable suggestions I would say but thats just me, let us get to it now.
Chiefs @ Lions
With the IR, suspensions, and hold outs this game is going to be a lot less star studded than it should be. Headlining the absent list Cris Jones, Jameson Williams, C.J. Gardner-Johnson, and Amon-Ra St. Brown will be out for this game which makes this a lot more favorable for the Chiefs. I'm going with the Chiefs money line. The -6.5 spread is very attractive but some how the gritty Lions will keep it close.
Panthers @ Falcons
I have a sneaky suspicion for Bryce Young having that welcome to the NFL rookie... moment. The Falcons defense is sneaky good and with the new addition of Jessie Bates and Campbell. I believe there will be a couple turnovers for the little guy. Kind of an even match up but I'll take Falcons at home on this one straight up.
Bengals @ Browns

A tough game my gut says the Bengals but for some reason I'm going with the Browns. I still think this Bengal's O-line is not all that, even with the addition of Orlando Brown. They're defense might be even more questionable. With all that said if Burrow doesn't play they have no shot. Browns money line for the win.
Jags @ Colts
This will be the start of Trevor Lawrence's MVP caliber campaign. This Jaguars offense is scary good with a lot of young players with they're projection arrow pointing up. Calvin Ridley will be putting up WR 1 type numbers along with the complementary pieces in Engram and Kirk. Lawrence will embarrass the Colts in a blow out. With no Johnathan Taylor they wont even put up a fight. Take the points.
Bucs @ Vikings

There's a couple ways this could go but with a questionable Mike Evans and Winfield I'm leaning towards the Vikings winning this game. I wouldn't take more than a 3 point spread but I think this offense is going to be dangerous with the new receiver duo in Addison and Jefferson. Hockenson is questionable so if he ends up playing you could add a few points to that spread total. Maybe stretch it to -6 points.
Titans @ Saints
With a suspended Kamara the Saints are missing they're bell cow running back that is a x factor that will be missed in such a even match up. The Titans come into this with Tannehill as the starter and taking a look at the 11 year vet he is playing for a new contract. At the end of the season he is a free agent which leaves him at a start or backup role cross roads. He's 35 years old and I'm sure he wants to cash out one more time. I'd look for him to try to get an early jump on his 2023 season with a winning game against a former top 10 defense last year. He will have Hopkins and Henry to get the ball to so with the explosiveness of their run game it will open a lot up down the field. Could see a deep ball or two going to Treylon Burks especially if lockdown cornerback Marshon Lattimore is out for the Saints. Give me Titans money line on this one.
49ers @ Steelers

The best game on the 1pm slate of games is 49ers coming in to take on the Steelers in a battle of two of the best pass rushers in the league. Oh wait Joey Bosa is having a contract dispute and it's apparently "not a slam dunk" for him to play this week. If Bosa does not play this leaves this 49ers defense with a giant whole and quite frankly it might not matter with the Steeler's young up and coming trio in Pickens, Harris, and Johnson. Kenny Pickett showed promise last year and in the preseason he looked like the real deal. I was impressed but the only thing is their o-line is less than desirable. I'm leaning towards the Steelers, might be wise to go Steelers +3.5.
Cardinals @ Commanders
This is going to be an ugly game with the lame duck roster of the Cardinals. To me they're already eliminated from the playoffs and its really just if they're going to be picking first or second in next year's draft. With that said the R words have a real shot of having a productive season and quite possibly make the playoffs. They have a solid roster with a question mark at quarterback. I've liked what I've seen from Sam Howell he's got good pocket movement and decent accuracy but the question I have is if it will translate once it's the first real football game of his first season as a starter. He started a game last year but now the starting quarterback pressure on him. They gave him the keys to the McLaren basically. And that McLaren comes in the form of Terry McLaurin and Jahan Dotson also a sneaky option is receiver Dyami Brown. He looked pretty good in the preseason and the running attack being as good as it is. It is going to be hard to cover all those options and could leave some opportunities for him to shine. Could make an impact on their win against the Cards.
Texans @ Ravens

Baltimore plain and simple. It's really about how much? I say by 20 points. Lets go 45-20 Ravens . Lamar Jackson goes for three hundred yards plus and three touchdowns. Dobbins over one hundred yards with the defense smothering the rookie quarterback. Might see a pick six in this one even without Marlon Humphrey. This could be a break out game for Ojabo with a shaken up Texan's right tackle. Can't see this really being close but I'd say the Ravens +10 is a lock.
Packers @ Bears
Justin Fields reign over the NFC North may be approaching here with the newly added pro bowl D.J Moore poised for a fantastic season. The Bears offense is very talented and the Packers corner back room is not all that great even if Jaire Alexander plays. This seems like a layup here might not be a blow out but I can see the Bears winning by 7 points.
Raiders @ Broncos

As much as I like the move to bring Sean Payton in to coach this team I can't see this roster making any headway in this division. Russel Wilson is a broken quarterback who can't see over the offensive line. Then you have Jeudy who is almost a guaranteed to get hurt in the next couple weeks when he does end up coming back. That leaves them with Sutton. Who is solid but like I said previously Russ is broken and you give him limited options. That's a recipe for a couple picks and a bad loss. Which could happen here, you have a nice pass rush duo in Crosby and Jones which could cause chaos for Wilson. Jimmy G might be able to get something going against this Broncos defense all though they've proved to be tough with star corner Pat Surtain II leading the group. I'd bet the Raiders money line in this divisional battle.
Eagles @ Patriots
I have no clue why but I have a feeling Belichick and the gang are going to make this into a last second field goal win for the Eagles. The super bowl contender Philadelphia Eagles are poised for another run this year with a stacked roster. Might have the best roster in the league to be honest but these Patriots are no slouches themselves. I like what they did with bringing in Zeke Elliot and Ju Ju Smith-Schuster. Not saying their number ones in their position but good solid filler players to compliment Parker and Stevenson. The trenches on both sides of the ball are very good and the secondary is promising but the Eagles offense is just too good. It's going to be who scores last. I'm going with the Eagles money line.
Dolphins @ Chargers

The two teams going at it in Sofi stadium over in LA both drafted their franchise quarterback in the 2020 draft and it has paid off for both teams for the most part. Here we have another game between the two and they are tied at a game a piece. It should live up to the hype with the two playoff contenders going at it but I'm thinking Miami has the edge. From their offense being better to their defense being a notch above I think the Dolphins are more refined. Plus Brandon Stanley is a clown. Even if they're winning the game he'll some how blow it for them. Give me the Dolphins money line with the over at 50.5.
Rams @ Seahawks
Well it turns out Geno did write back and resigned with the hawks. The receiving core that he has is damn good with the newly added Jaxon Smith-Njigba. This games going to be a bit of a snoozer but when it Geno gets his confidence to him and starts slinging it to his trio of wideouts. I think he can lace up the Rams secondary with no problem. Kenneth Walker may get shut down but the Hawks should have no problem putting up 25 points on this team. I like the spread at -5.5 favoriting the Seahawks.
Cowboys @ Giants

Dear Cowboys fans, believe it or not it's not your year again. Jerry Jones basically said it when he traded for Trey Lance. Prescott is a below average and his weapons might reflect that as well. They have nice pieces in Lamb, Cooks, and Pollard but Pollard is coming off a major injury and Lamb is a below average wide receiver one. Also Cooks is old and will get blown up in the first game. The defense is pretty good now which will keep them some what relevant but when the rubber meets the road and Saquon is running the ball down there throat. The Cowboys will break down, sit there and die while the Giants run up the score. Giants money line is the answer here.
Bills @ Jets
Last but certainly not least the best game of week one Bills vs. Jets. I'm pretty excited to see this Aaron Rodgers ran Jets team but this Bills team is still top dawg in the division. With no Von Miller the defense is missing a game changer but this team is so stacked they should be good to go especially since the Jets have that bum Bekton at tackle. Now on offense the Bills have everyone but it's sh!t or get off the pot time for James Cook. As a Buffalo fan you have to be tired of this never ending running back carousel that hasn't been fixed since Fred Jackson. I liked him coming out of Georgia but he's left a lot to be desired when he's been on the field. All in all this will be a hell of a clash of division rivals but I'm going to go with the unit that has been together for a little longer by choosing the Bills. It's sort of a coin flip game but chemistry and overall roster strength I think the Bills will pull this out in a close one.
